Berlin: shop till you drop, arts and culture galore and of course party, party, party! Experience this dynamic metropolis and, at the same time stay in a peaceful environment!
Berlin – Am Wannsee youth hostel with its huge outdoor area is located on Lake Wannsee. We offer 285 beds in four-bedded rooms, some with en suite shower/WC, some shared (1 shower for 2 rooms) and WC outside the room; limited number of single and double rooms available.
The special feature of our hostel, its modern amenities aside, is its great location on Lake Wannsee, a peaceful alternative to the hustle and bustle of the big city. But Berlin city centre of Berlin is just a quick 15 minutes S-Bahn ride away. The town of Potsdam with Sanssouci Castle can also be reached in 15 minutes.

| Definitely not a place to stay if you want to be a part of the 24/7 life of Berlin. But it's right on the lake, and is a great retreat from the city. | ||

| The hostel has an excellent infrastructure, the breakfast is excellent, the rooms and bathrooms are very clean, the only problem is that it is a bit far from downtown, but you can go there easily since it is close to the train station! | ||

| Unfriendly staff who sported an unfounded sense of superiority. Terrible location.Despite this the facilities were quite good and the stay was comfortable. | ||

| For people travelling around different countries, internet connectivity is a boon when they are staying at a place. Having to pay for the connection and having to sit in the computer room even for getting Wifi connectivity is not a happy experience. it would be good to provide free Wifi connectivity on all floors, like many other hostels do | ||

| Clean and comfortable, friendly and helpful staff and easy enough to get to the train to Berlin. | ||

| I'm 19 and expected to be hostelling with the same age group, instead there were 12 year olds running around and screaming, the TV was blairing and the receptionest didn't seem to care.. my friend and I were annoyed and tired of the little kids. Not to mention the 85 year old that was in my room.. really akward. | ||

| Ugh... don't believe the bit about a beautiful setting... it is, but you can't even walk out on the docks so it doesn't mean much. The staff are extremely rude, and the security in the place is downright frightening. The doors need a key to lock or unlock from both sides, so roommates usually don't bother locking doors. If the door does get locked and a fire breaks out in your room at night, you would need to find your key to escape. Stupid and dangerous. Like all German HI hostels I started in, WiFi isn't free - and it isn't even cheap, it's extremely expensive. The place was also very quiet and boring. The breakfast was good, and the only redeeming quality. I'm sure you can do much better if you shop around independent hostels. | ||
