Beautiful hostel. Clean, comfortable rooms in a large garden area. Breakfast is sufficient and there are occasionally treats like a delicious homemade pudding one morning. Staff are all very friendly and seem pleased to have visitors. The one problem with the hostel is it is up a large hill, and as a bicycle tourist with full panniers I found it difficult to make it up. But the hostel was definitely worth the effort involved in climbing the hill.

Hostel response:
Thank you Neale. And for people without bicycle, tou ca comewith the bus i or the lowcoast company of taxi(you have to book on www.easytake.fr) 8 € for 4 people from the station.

The price is the lowest in the region. But it's quite far from the center. Also, there is a 10 min walk between the bus stop and the hostel. Furthermore, the bus is quite rare...(every 30mins). If you don't have a lot of baggages and you are capable of walking, I think it's quite nice. If not, do not go to this hostel.

Hostel response:
Hey Lian : you have a bus every 10 minuts the week. You can also take a taxi with the low coast company www.esaytake.fr for 8 € (2 € per person if you are for). :)

Great hostel and facilities - the hill up from the bus stop is good exercise!

Hostel response:
Thank you. If you don't need exercise, there is a new low coast taxi company very cheap : www.easytake.fr

self catering kitchen was very dirty and disorganised

Hostel response:
The kitchen is cleaned twice daily and entirely disinfected every thursday. The kitchen has 6 electric hotplates, 1 micro-wave, an oven/grill, a new fridge e.t.c......... Unfortunately not everyone respects the hygiene and property of the kitchen. This must have been the case on that day. However you must understand that we cannot be constantly checking up on people and making sure that they clean their dishes, arrange their pots and pans.......

Very nice Hostel, very nice location. Lots to do in town. Make sure to buy the discounted museaum pass with printed route map/attactions. This pass will also get you into other museums not on listed on the attractions (like Musée des Beaux-Arts de Nîmes).

Hostel response:
Thank you. The staff

It's a trek up from the nearest bus stop, especially on a hot day. Peaceful, quiet.

Hostel response:
There is now a low coast company of taxi. 8 € from the station to the youth hostel. See on www.hihostels.com

Diffcult to find: directions need to say: "Autobus I: Stad Ales (the letter I) from Gard Nimes. Exit station, turn left, same side of street is bus stop." Was once I figured that out, finding it was fine, with the assistance of several friendly French people.

I was very impressed how clean the place was. The rooms are large even the lockers. Make sure you bring a lock. Breakfast is not included in the price but it's worth 4 euros. If you add it all up, it's the same price just like any other hostel in France. The disadvantage about this place is that it is a far hike up the hill especially if you have a large pack on you. I would recommand this place to backpackers.
