Whether hyperactive or more of the quiet type, in summer and in winter, Chamonix YH is here for you, alone or with friends. Come and have some fresh air, at the top of the Aiguille du Midi (3842 m), discover outstanding views, take in Europe's roof (Mont-Blanc), high at 4810.40 m. From June to September, many paths will entice you to go for a walk and you may see a marmot basking in the sun. On the hills, take your time to watch the ibex and other chamois' crazy run around the rocks. Lake Blanc, Cheyseries, Posettes, Plan Praz, Bellachat, Dard waterfall and many many more places will enable to discover the whole valley from every angle. From December to April, paths and hills become enjoyable ski slopes for everyone and every level. Whether an experimented ski enthusiast or a beginner, the many different slopes of the resort will answer all your needs. Downhill skiing, snowboarding, cross-country skiing, multi-sports, the choice is yours. When the evening comes, have a little snack, some tea, or a hot cup of chocolate before dinner. And during your stay here, why don't you try our local specialties: tartiflette, croziflette, diots with white wine (just a little bit), or fondue savoyarde.

The staff are friendly and helpful. The place is very clean and the beds are comfortable. My room had a view of the Matterhorn. One can think it's kinda exoensive for a nights stay but not so bad when you factor in that dinners are really good and the breakfasts are great too. The hostel reception is closed for some hours in the day to 4 but I like that because it gives yu the sence the workers get a good life style to ski or do family, probably why everyone does their jobs so well. Thanks for the great stay !

DO NOT GO. hygiene is not that good, breakfast is really basic, blanket is bit dirty, hard to open the door, far from city center, and it's mandatory to make youthhostel card if you don't have one. (you have to pay for it, of course.) It was my first time to be asked to make the fucking card. I had great nights without it when I stayed in many other youth hostels.

Overall i think the hostel was nice. But for me it was very bad that they dont have a computer you can borrow. And I did sleep very well alot because of bad pillows i think. but the staff was very nice and helpful and i enjoy chamonix verry much.!

Very dissapointed for the stay. I hoped more for a hostel located in a well known place as Chamonix. The rooms need new wquipment, the wood litters are painted and dirty, the sheets on the bed weren't changed and dirty, the showers and wc were horrible: wet, dirty walls, no hot water... Then, the common room are nice places but nothing compared to the rooms. I will not come back.
