Customer Reviews St Briavel's Castle YHA

| Hostel is in a very small town, not even a town, there is nothing within walking distance except houses, the only thing was a pub which opened from 12-3 then 5.30-12pm, pub had great food and friendly locals. The hostel kicks you out from 11am till 5pm. If it's cold like it was when we went there you are left to freeze while the pub is shut. The hostel kitchen isn't the cleanest feeling. the closest supermarket was a good 20min DRIVE away. If you have a car awesome if not there is nothing to do and it acctually becomes boring and you feel trapped. Cab from nearest station is 20pounds. castle was great except half of it was closed off so you couldn't really explore :( but in all it was an ok experiance. If i ever did it again i'd have a car i'd never go back without one. ah and the ther people who generaly stayed were old and stuck in there ways and not very social. | ||

| Beautiful castle hostel with great friendly staff. Loved getting to stay in the "Oubliette" room. Staff were all busily getting ready for a wedding booked for the next day, but still found time to answer our questions and help us. Very cool hostel. | ||
