The Windermere hostel is an ideal base for walkers and families, children love the large wooded grounds with their trails and abundant wildlife. it was good, but very far, and no staff came till 1 , we kept waiting. but later she was friendly and nice, but it was cold and they turn off the heaters at night

Wifi should really be free, was 5 GBP for 24 hours or 9 GBP for 7 days access. The meals were delicious, but a little pricey (5 GBP for breakfast and 10 GBP for dinner). The location is absolutely beautiful, though a bit off the beaten path, if you're using public transportation, be ready to walk or cycle!

Great Hostel but without a car its a bit of a trek up the hill with bags! Great view out the back over the lake when the sun shines though. Great shower ensuite in a dorm room I had to myself :-)

Very comfortable hostel. We got our laundry done and had an evening meal and small cost. Great location in very pretty part of England. It was lovely to meet a fellow Aussie behind the counter and share some talk of home after being away for nearly 3 weeks at that stage of our trip. Lovely roomy bathroom right next door to us.

breakfast is not included. it is about 5 pounds. so you need to shop before you go there. by taxi, it costs arounds 7 pounds from train station.

The best location for a hotel or hostel, Absolutely loved our stay. I have recommended this hostel to both friends and family and will be visiting again for sure
