| This is my third stay at YHA Manchester and it never disappoints. Due to a mobility problem, I always email the hostel beforehand to ask for a low bunk which is never a problem. The rooms are clean and the bunks comfortable. The breakfast is second to none with plenty of choice and the staff are exeptionally helpful It's proximity to the city centre makes YHA Manchester an ideal place to stay. | ||

| As we were there the night of the riots we didn't leave the hostel, so can't comment on the location (other then was fairly easy to find with GPS) | ||

| In a year of travel it is the first time I had to pay for WiFi and the breakfast seemed expensive. | ||

| I loved everything about this hostel--location, staff, cleanliness--except the night's sleep. My adult roommates did not have a handle on the hostel etiquette for coming in late and sharing a small 4-bed room. I went to bed at 11p--early flight in the morning. They turned on lights, whispered long conversations and generally were not very considerate for about an hour in the wee hours. I put my pillow over my head and put in earplugs but... I find I prefer the larger dorms--spaces folks out better usually and easier to get sleep, ironically. The 4-bed rooms (the majority at this hostel) are pretty tight, with an ensuite that seems nice until you have to listen to everyone using it in such small confines. Oh, and the kitchen space is pretty minimal with just a tiny fridge and no other food storage space. Just one dining table for kitchen area. This is an "eat-out" hostel, clearly. Staff were very good. | ||

| we had a good time, but didn´t like the complementary costs: 5 (!) pounds for breakfast, 5 pounds for internet access on your phone, 2 or 3 pounds for a locker on the day you checked out... alltogether this makes it a rather expensive hostel | ||
