| front desk people were entirely useless and SO unhelpful. kind of a weird neighborhood, not too far from centro but not really close to anything either. weird mix of people, old people, kids, families, just really strange. not social at all. would definitely not stay here, you can get something way better for that price | ||

| The front desk should be more friendly and helpful. Otherwise, it was great. | ||

| The manager tried to get me to pay twice for the 5% deposit for making a reservation online. He said this was a "charge" that the HI company charges for online reservations but the local hostel doesn't get paid for, so I had to also pay that amount to the local hostel. I tried to explain for about a half hour that a deposit is a pre-payment of the total amount, not an additional charge, but he wouldn't budge. He finally agreed to let me go without paying this extra amount but not without acting like he was doing me a big favor. Beware of this when booking online. The hostel itself is okay, nothing special. Mostly clean, 10 minute walk to Plaza des Armas, backyard bar area is nice. | ||

| This is the noisest hostel I've ever been in. Voices, banging doors reverberate through the place at all hours. | ||

| Reception staff either dishonest or incompetent with English speaking travelers. For 7a ride to airport evening receptionist told me that they would call me a taxi for 50000 pesos because bus service starts at 8a. Bus service actually starts at 6a each day for 1400 pesos. Receptionist also mishandled my reservation when I left after one night on a two night reservation and came back later in the week despite saying he could take care of it. I ended up paying for an extra night.
Morning receptionist sent me to bus station for airport bus when bus actually picks up by Los Heroes subway station entrance.
Another couple was quoted 30000 pesos for an airport taxi whereas someone who hailed a cab on the street was charged 13000.

| We found the hostel nice to stay at - however we were only disappointed with two things...
Firstly, the breakfast was very poor - extremely strange tasting bread and not much else! Many other hostels I've stayed in have lovely breakfasts, this one certainly didn't.
We also found ourselves wanting to cook on the New Year (as everything was closed) and found the atmosphere rather awkward, as there was a member of Kitchen Staff, who seemed to take offense that we were using the kitchen! I think it needs to be clearer as to whether or not Guests can use the kitchen, and if not, surely food should be provided instead - especially on days where it is impossible to eat out.

| In spite of all my coments I will not stay again in this place in Santiago : music loud and talks and shout of people all night long. At midnight i asked how long the music would continue ,I was answered the whole night people are like that in this country. " Ma liberté s'arrete ou commence celle des autres".This lack of respect is not acceptable for me. | ||
