| There is no option to cook by yourself. They have a restaurant but it was not clear if you could use it.
The showers were small.
Lack of power outlets in the room.

| Was given teh private room as the dorms weren't available for the period. The rooms were clean and quite comfortable with the exception of the pillows.
Close to the metro and within walking distance of the downtown core. The Barrio Brasil neighborhood its in is also one that sparks much interest.

| Was a last minute thing since I had to fly south (buses were full). Dorms were clean and met the needs for my overnight stay. | ||

| Had stayed in another Hostel in Santiago before (Andes hostel). In comparison the HI-hostel pales into bad mediocricy... | ||

| Very clean and comfortable place. The staff were very friendly and helpful with advice on travel and restaurants. This was a quieter hostel and much appreciated to get a good night's sleep | ||

| The woman at reception was really helpful, she booked onward accommodation and gave advice on buses to take etc. Very useful. | ||

| front desk people were entirely useless and SO unhelpful. kind of a weird neighborhood, not too far from centro but not really close to anything either. weird mix of people, old people, kids, families, just really strange. not social at all. would definitely not stay here, you can get something way better for that price | ||

| The front desk should be more friendly and helpful. Otherwise, it was great. | ||

| The manager tried to get me to pay twice for the 5% deposit for making a reservation online. He said this was a "charge" that the HI company charges for online reservations but the local hostel doesn't get paid for, so I had to also pay that amount to the local hostel. I tried to explain for about a half hour that a deposit is a pre-payment of the total amount, not an additional charge, but he wouldn't budge. He finally agreed to let me go without paying this extra amount but not without acting like he was doing me a big favor. Beware of this when booking online. The hostel itself is okay, nothing special. Mostly clean, 10 minute walk to Plaza des Armas, backyard bar area is nice. | ||

| No kitchen available, breakfast poor and no atmosphere at all!
Won't recommend ! | ||
