The Heritage House hostel is located in downtown Halifax, just 200m from the bus and train stations, so getting here is easy!! And remember that the Airport Shuttle will drop you at the door and pick you up at the Westin - aslo 200m away! Halifax, founded in 1749, to establish British strength in North America has much history and culture, including a cool, summer Jazz Festival, a funky Busker's Festival, the International Tattoo, and the Titanic Graveyard. The hostel is close to the city's best music and pubs, and a pleasant 10 minute stroll from the Harbour Front/Boardwalk and some of the best seafood you'll enjoy in Canada!! And if it's cooking for yourself that you choose we have a large, well equipped, self catered kitchen.

The weekend Farmer's Market, an asian food speciality shop as well as various large grocery stores are all within a short walk's distance. And remember that your hi card will get you discounts at several nearby local restaurants.

Our newly painted 160 year old heritage building is clean and safe and exudes a great vibe. Our private/family rooms, dorm rooms all include linen in the cost PLEASE LEAVE YOUR SLEEPING BAGS AT HOME. There are coin operated internet kiosks as well as laundry for your convenience.

On summer time we host a great Wednesday Pub Crawl, on Fridays we provide a convenient and affordable BBQ and surprise you with a cheap pancake breakfast three times a week. Jam nights, frisbee nights, great Sunday night Blues Jam and Wednesday night karoke just 2 doors down - there is a lot to like!!The hostel is a great base from which to explore the rest of the Maritimes. Heritage Hostel is where you want to be!!

We also provide two internet kiosks for a charge and free wireless access for our guests. We hope that we see you soon.

Washing machines are in basement level as was my dorm room. BUT I had to climb up to street level and go down again. Their is a hallway but it needs repair. Not good for seniors or disabled.Very close to bay walk and eateries

There should be a way to automatically calculate computer usage time rather than staff taking manual notes.
