The HI-Ottawa Hostel offers a clean, safe and unique overnight experience for hostellers, backpackers and travellers of all kinds. Formerly the Carleton County Gaol (Jail), this historical landmark offers an experience with character, charm and historical significance. The hostel is downtown, and makes a great base to explore Canada's Capital. Museums, Galleries, Festivals, National Historic Sites, bustling city activity and scenic recreational paths all are located close to the Ottawa Hostel.

The hostel offers shared accommodation in converted Jail cells, private accommodation as well as regular shared dorm rooms (ideal for families and groups) are also available. Directions

Bus:	Take local bus #4 (Downtown) from the corner of Arlington and Kent St. to the Rideau Centre. Walk two blocks south. The hostel is on the left.
Parking:	At hostel (chargeable)
Location:	Right in the City Center and within walking distance of Parliment Hill, the Museum of Civilization, The National Gallery of Canada, the Rideau Centre and more.
Rail:	Take bus #95 (Fallowfiled) to the Rideau Centre (MacKenzie King stop). Walk east on the bridge to the stairs. The hostel is located at the bottom of the stairs.
Airport:	Take local bus # 97 to the Rideau Centre (MacKenzie King stop). Walk east on the bridge to the stairs. The hostel is located at the bottom of the stairs. Or take the Airport Shuttle to the Novotel Hotel; the hostel is one block south.
