I was really satisfied with your service. We booked an only female room and then we were put into a coed room. But there was no problem to change it! I enjoyed my sty even though it was only one night. Keep on doing it like this!

unreasonable additional charges upon arrival. nothing mentioned in online booking. rates are actually poor when compared to nearby hotels. can find really cheap hotels on booking.com

Hostel response:
Bonjour Sze Yeung, I want to thank you for leaving your feedback from your experience with us... even though it appears clearly that we could have done better... :( The good news is that we CAN do better!! I thought the pricing policy was adequately shown on the booking page, especially since this site is used by members, but obviously, it is not enough. Fair enough I say! I'll forward your concerns to the proper persons and I'll make sure to see how we can improve the visibility of the discounted HI member rates! I remain positive that if you gave us a second chance, we'd be up to the challenge! Best Regards and Bon Voyage, Nicolas Lemaire, hostel manager

This was my second time staying there for igloofest. I highly recommend it. Great location near downtown and st.catherine's street. You are near everything. Staying there reminds me of my college dorm, great times.

I really enjoy staying in this hostel. The price is right, the location great, the staff friendly and the accommodations safe and comfortable. It is a great way to meet people as well.

Had to wait around for service a lot of the time especially at the bar (because the girl was talking a lot) and reception (because so many people needed assistance all the time but not enough staff to help).. otherwise lots of activities, which was good and the rooms were good although strange light in the bathroom and couldn't see hardly anything

Hostel response:
Bonjour Renata, Ouch! 67% that hurts...! Now the good thing is that I'm taking good notes of your feedbacks and we'll try to work on the fluidity at the desk and at the bar. Regarding the lighting in the bathroom, we've changed regular the bulb lights for eco friendly fluorescent ones and they need 2 or 3 minutes before reaching their full brightness.... maybe we should try to find a better way than those!! As for the outings, I'll pass your good words to Gab, our new programming coordinator as I'm sure it will make him happy! Bon Voyage, Nicolas, hostel manager

Very poor service..No hot water was working in room in -15 degree outside. The guy told get hot water in bucket from downstairs and take in your bathroom. When we wanted to leave the hostel, he said he will charge full amount for the stay. Next morning we left from the place...Terrible experience

Hostel response:
Bonjour Rajarshi, First of all, I apologize for all the hassle… We always try to be ready for all possible situations, but honestly we did not expect a water tank break on January 1st, when all the plumbers in town were on holidays. We managed that issue the best and quickest we could, but I understand it was not the best situation for the guests... Now the good news is that it is all fixed and it should not be a problem for the next couple of years! Yeah!! Again, not a hot water break might ruin someone's stay and make everything look bad and disorganised, but I can garanty you that this situation was a once-in-a-lifetime for the hostel and should you give us a second chance, I'm a convinced that we would be up to the challenge! I don't think it's comfortable not to have elevator. It was too hard to carry my whole luggages and stuffs through stairs! :(

Hostel response:
Bonjour Dayeon, I'm takig your comment in note for future renovation plans... An elevator would definately be a good thing to have, but it is not the easiest thing to do. The good thing is that with only two floors, it the staircase can also be considered as a little work out! :)) Next time you come around though, do not hesitate to let us know if you need a hand with your bags and suitcase as it would be a pleasure to help you whenever we can. Bon Voyage! Nicolas, hostel manager

Very happy overall with our stay in Montreal. The only real issue we had is that the hot water system died over new years which meant that for three days we had stone cold showers. Given that it was -10C most nights it was rather unpleasant. Staff are lovely and very helpful. The breakfast is a bit expensive though; they have free pancake mix in the kitchen and it's well equipped so I wouldn't bother paying for it.
