Situated in Pelourinho, Salvador's historic district, Albergue das Laranjeiras' location is excellent. Besides its architectural ensemble, nowadays Pelourinho is a great leisure and culture center. Das Laranjeiras Hostel combines colonial-style warmth with modern, efficient facilities. With a complete self-service structure including a snack bar, lounge and TV room, Internet access, a fully equipped kitchen, dining room and laundry facilities with washers and dryers, the Hostel is rated "very good," Hostelling International's highest rating. All the room rates include a delicious buffet with a variety of breads, fruits, juices, cakes, cheese and other items. Those are characteristics that make Das Laranjeiras Hostel different.

The hostel is also an excellent option for beachgoers. Near the hostel, at Praça da Sé, you can take a bus to any beach in Salvador or on the north coast. In the opposite direction, if you take the Plano Inclinado (Inclined Plane tram) or Lacerda Elevator, you can easily travel by boat to the beaches of Itaparica Island and Morro de São Paulo.

At Praça da Sé you can also take the more comfortable "executivo" buses to the airport and to the Bus Station. Finally, for those who come here by car, Das Laranjeiras Hostel offers the additional advantage of being located near convenient private parking facilities.
