Hostelling in Tunisia

Tunisia presents beachside pleasures as well as glorious archaeological sites and intriguing desert life inland. Tunis, the capital, is both a modern city and an ancient town dating from the 7th century and ribboned with narrow streets. The centuries–old city of Carthage is nearby, with its Roman baths, amphitheatre and museums. Kairouan is the spiritual centre of the country and boasts superb architecture dating from the 9th century, as well as an impressive tradition of carpet making.
