Hostelling in Poland

Visit medieval towns and ancient churches; hike in high hills and forests; sail on shimmering lakes; ski down tree–fringed mountains; kayak along rushing rivers; drink herb–flavoured vodka. In Poland, folklore and tradition rub shoulders with striking modernity. The north offers long sandy beaches as well as the plucky town of Gdansk and the enormous 13th–century castle at Malbork. To the east are the Great Masurian Lakes - and numerous Gothic churches and fortresses. Warsaw, the capital, has a magnificent old town square and an abundance of intriguing galleries while further south, the extraordinary Czestochowa monastery is considered the spiritual heart of the nation. In the far south are the High Tatra Mountains, a land of towering peaks and glacial lakes, and the charming city of Krakow. With a network of more than 145 hostels, there is an abundance of choice for accommodation in all parts of the country.

Opening times

Main hostels open throughout the year, 07:00 – 10:00; 16:00 – 20:00. Reception open 24 hours. Other hostels open throughout the year, 08:00 – 10:00; 17:00 – 19:00. Reception open 17:00 – 20:00. Seasonal hostels are generally open Jul–Aug.

Reservations recommended during May–Sep for 1, 2, 3, 4, bedded rooms. Reservations via Hostel by fax or email. Reservation charges may apply. Smoking is limited – please check.
