Hostelling in Netherlands

A country of canals, big skies and flat, open landscape. Typical tourist attractions include the tulips and bright flowers in the Bulb region, the windmills that dot the countryside and the many world-class museums like the Van Gogh and the stately Rijks Museum. Dutch people are famous for their open-minded attitude, are internationally oriented and very friendly. Amsterdam and Rotterdam are the biggest cities of the country. The funky city of Amsterdam contains glorious 17th- and 18th century buildings. Rotterdam boasts bold modern architecture. The Hague: the court city and seat of government is rich in history. The cities are best explored by bicycle and Amsterdam on a canal bike. Head out for the beaches or the woods and feel the breeze on one of the remote Wadden islands where you can practise the local sport mud walking (wadlopen).
