Hostelling in England & Wales

Visit prehistoric sites and ancient churches; hike over long-distance footpaths; bike along green hills and pleasant pastureland; eat scones with cream at country teashops; go clubbing in funky city nightspots. England and Wales are intensely packed with geographical variety as well as history and hi-tech modern sights. Wales offers mountains, castles, rolling sheepland - and a language uniquely its own. England features stately homes and pretty villages as well as vibrant cities and architectural innovation. From Shakespeare's Stratford to the Beatles' Liverpool there is a rich seam of culture to explore. London, the huge and frenetic capital filled with museums, galleries and theatres, has seven hostels; Ambleside is wonderfully well placed for hiking and biking in the picturesque Lake District; while around the spectacular scenery of the Snowdonia National Park and the Pembrokeshire coast there is a rich choice of places to stay.
