Hostelling in Azerbaijan

Visit our hostels in Azerbaijan and uncover a country with a fascinating history and wonderful ancient culture. Straddled between Western Asia and Eastern Europe, Azerbaijan is dubbed the ‘Land of Fire’ due to its phenomena of burning hillsides caused by natural gas seeping through the earth. It’s an undiscovered land full of potential, so book your stay in our Azerbaijan hostels and go explore! Its cosmopolitan capital, Baku, is a city of contrasts, combining a highly developed modern city complete with skyscrapers and a UNESCO-listed Old Town surrounded by a medieval fortress wall.

Less than an hour south of Baku lies Qobustan, home to mud volcanoes and petroglyphs. Marvel at the strange collection of baby volcanoes spouting mud as a result of natural gases seeping out of the earth; or go and discover the 12,000-year-old petroglyphs (or rock carvings). Azerbaijan really has a lot to offer across its diverse mix of landscapes - whether you want to chill-out on the beach and enjoy the warm waters of the Caspian Sea; hike through the Great Caucasus mountains; go and see the stunning natural gas fires of Yanar Dag or ‘Fire Mountain’; or simply eat pancakes and drink tea (Azerbaijan are a nation of tea drinkers) while watching the world go by.
