The YH is situated at the Tofutsu lakeside. Visitors can look out over Mt.Shari and Shiretoko Mountains from the window. In summer, guests can enjoy blooms of various flowers such as a lily, a rugosa rose and a hagi in summer. Swans come flying from Siberia and floating ice come into the Sea of Okhotsk in winter. The YH is situated on top of the hill looking down the Sea of Okhotsk. Visitors can command floating ice in winter from the window. The morning sun rising from Siretoko Mountains also can be seen. Main dish is the crab produced in Abashiri. After the meal, handmade cakes are served at teatime, and sightseeing tour is offered. Hotspring tour is held every day in season. Prison Museum, Kitakata Folkways Museum and Okhotsk Floating Ice Museum are close by bus. | more... |
